Tam established his academic foundation at the University of Hertfordshire, where he graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry. Following his studies, he successfully channeled his technical background into the corporate risk and technology spaces. Before stepping into major leadership roles, he cultivated his early career through valuable operational positions at various global and regional service firms, including ISL, Nityo Infotech, and Mercer, where he developed comprehensive skills in market research, sales management, and strategic recruiting.
Prior to joining Continuum, Tam built a distinguished seven-year tenure at Howden (Hong Kong), a major international insurance brokerage. From August 2019 until July 2026, he served as the Senior Manager of Cyber & Tech Solutions. During his time with Howden, Tam became a trusted advisor on digital vulnerabilities, helping mid-sized and corporate clients navigate complex data privacy regulations, structure robust cyber insurance protections, and deploy effective technology risk transfer strategies.
At Continuum, Tam works closely alongside the company's executive leadership, including founder and CEO Rob Russell, to scale their digitally led client experiences. Under his guidance, the Hong Kong office functions in tandem with regional license holders like Freed Capital Limited to offer fully compliant commercial insurance lines, including Directors and Officers (D&O) liability, professional indemnity, and crypto/DeFi coverage. His primary focus centers on empowering founders and venture capital funds to scale their infrastructure with minimized transactional exposure.
Beyond his corporate mandates, Tam is a vocal thought leader regarding corporate governance and executive liability across the Asia-Pacific region. He frequently educates industry stakeholders on regulatory realities, such as the personal civil and criminal liabilities imposed on corporate directors under Hong Kong's statutory frameworks.
